Max Bernstein was named an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Fordham in January of 2026.
Bernstein arrived at Rose Hill after serving as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Wayne State University from August 2024 until December of 2025. His duties included designing and implementing comprehensive strength programs for swimming and diving, cross country, and tennis as well as serving as lead assistant with football beginning in the winter of 2025. He independently designed and implemented football speed-session warmups, presented to and approved by the Head Strength Coach and collaborated closely with head coaches and athletic trainers, including assisting with return-to-play assessments for football hamstring injuries.
Prior to Wayne State, Bernstein was a Strength and Conditioning Intern for the Boston College football program in the spring of 2024. He managed setup and breakdown of training sessions and operated and coached athletes using sports science technology, including VALD NordBord, ForceFrame, ForceDecks, and Hawkins Force Plates.
In the summer of 2-024, Bernstein was a Strength and Conditioning Intern for the University of Michigan basketball program where he supported daily training operations for both men’s and women’s basketball, including setup, cleanup, and on-floor assistance during lifts.
Bernstein earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Master’s degree in Sport and Exercise from Wayne State University.
