Martin Feliz joined Fordham as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in August of 2017.
At Fordham, Feliz will be charged with the design, implementation, and evaluation of sport-specific speed, strength, and conditioning for varsity teams as well as analyzing nutritional habits or student-athletes and educating them on healthy dietary choices. He will also responsible for computer data entry of strength, speed, and conditioning test results, and athlete nutritional analyses.
Feliz comes to Fordham after spending the previous 19 months as the head strength and conditioning coach at Monroe College in New Rochelle, N.Y. He was responsible for assisting with the baseline rehabilitative and performance test battery in the athletic training and strength and conditioning room as well as overseeing all facets of strength and conditioning for the Mustangs’ 17 intercollegiate programs.
In the fall of 2015, Feliz served as a student athletic trainer at Long Island University where he assisted with the practice and game day coverage for the Blackbirds as well as assisting with the rehabilitation programs for the student-athletes.
Prior to his time at Long Island University, Feliz served as a physical therapy aide in 2014-2015 and a master personal trainer at New York Sports Clubs from 2010-2014.
Feliz received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Stony Brook University in 2010 and a master’s degree in athletic training and exercise science from Long Island University in 2017. He is also a 2003 graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx.
