Joining Head Coach Jim McElderry on the bench for his third season in 2007 is Eric Masters.
In two seasons at Fordham, Masters, a goalkeeper by trade, has helped the Fordham defense turn into one of the top units in the Atlantic 10, posting back-to-back seasons with a goals against average under one, while recording 14 shutouts.
Masters continues his work on the Fordham sidelines, after serving as a graduate assistant coach and a four-year playing career, all at Long Island University. In 2004, he served as a graduate assistant coach at LIU, helping them capture the Northeast Conference Championship for the first time since 1997, and an NCAA College Cup berth, the first for the program since 1986.
Besides his coaching duties at LIU, he has been a staff coach with the Storm Academy, and holds an NSCAA Goalkeeping Level One License. During his playing career at LIU, Masters logged over 3000 minutes in goal, registering 145 career saves. He boasted a save percentage of .770 over 37 career contests. He saw his best numbers come in 2001, earning 19 starts while recording a career-best goals against average of 1.54.
Following graduation, he trained with the MLS' NY/NJ MetroStars, and played for the Long Island Rough Riders.
Masters graduated cum laude in December of 2003 with a degree in Exercise Physiology.
