Ed Rose, former Senior Associate Athletic Director at the United States Military Academy, was named Associate Athletic Director in charge of Business in February 2010 after serving as Fordham's Director of Compliance since the summer 2008.
As Compliance Director, Rose's responsibilities included ensuring that the athletic program adheres to all NCAA and conference rules and regulations as well as monitoring student-athlete eligibility and working with the NCAA Initial Eligibility Center.
Rose came to Rose Hill after spending 34 years at the United States Military Academy, the final two-plus as Special Assistant to the Superintendent and acted as Deputy Deployment Director for the implementation of a continuous business process improvement program.
Prior to his work in the Superintendent's Office, Rose spent six years as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Administration, where he was charged with the complete administrative responsibility for the Academy's 25 sports, including recruiting coaches, program assessment and budget supervision. He oversaw a $24 million operating budget and served on the Academy's Alternate Plans and Resources Board.
From February 1988 until July of 1999, Rose served as the Associate Athletic Director for Business Management at Army, advising the director on matters related to scheduling, operations, financial management and capital funding of maintenance/repair of many athletic facilities. He also developed an annual operating plan and budget for athletic teams and support facilities. He provided oversight for contract services for food concessions, game program sales, as well as special event merchandise sales.
Rose started his tenure at West Point as a Management Analyst in October of 1977 and progressed up to Deputy Director of Resource Management in January of 1985.
A 1976 graduate of Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, N.Y. where he received a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Rose also earned a master's degree in Business Administration from C.W. Post College in 1980. He and his wife, Jill, reside in Highland Falls, N.Y. They are the parents of Meredith Kelly (husband Scott), a 2003 Siena College graduate; Peter, a 2008 Fordham graduate; and Timothy, a 2012 Fordham graduate, and recent grandparents of Rose Kelly.
