Sean Atkinson begins his ninth season as an assistant coach with the Fordham track & field team in 2022-23.

Since joining the staff, he has mentored three performers that earned Most Outstanding Rookie honors at the Atlantic 10 Championship in Sean Phillips (2016 - indoor), Ryan Kutch (2017 - outdoor), and Antony Misko (2018 - indoor).  Most recently, he worked closely with Jeremiah LaDuca, Zalen Nelson, Christopher Strzelinski, who have all medaled at the Atlantic 10 Championship with Nelson breaking the school record in the indoor 1,000 meters.

Atkinson was an outstanding performer for the Fordham track & field squad over his four year career, earning All-Atlantic 10 honors in each of his four years of indoor track and three out of four years for outdoor track.  He received All-Conference accolades in the indoor 500 meters, the indoor 4x400 relay, and the outdoor 400 meter hurdles.

Atkinson finished his career holding three school records in the indoor 500 meters (1:02.72 - 2013), the indoor 4x400 relay (3:14.75 - 2013), and the outdoor 4x400 relay (3:11.97 - 2011).

He graduated from Fordham in 2013 with a degree in Communications & Media Studies.
