Alyssa Plantz was named an assistant athletic trainer at Fordham in September 2019 after serving as a seasonal athletic trainer with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football since January of 2019. She provided medical coverage for all home and away practices and competitions, including preseason camp. She also designed daily rehabilitation programs with a variety of correctional exercises and soft tissue mobilizations.
 
Before her work in San Diego, Plantz was an athletic trainer at the University of Dayton from 2015-2019 where she worked with the football, softball, rowing and baseball programs. Among her responsibilities were supervising undergraduate student interns within the football program and implementing baseline concussion testing protocol. She also assisted with rehabilitations and acted as lead manager for Gatorade camp logistics and scheduling.
 
From 2016-2018, Plantz also served as the athletic trainer for the Dayton Club Hockey team.
 
A 2013 graduate of the University of Arkansas where she received a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Applied Exercise Science, Plantz went on to receive a master’s degree from the school in 2015 in the Athletic Training Education Program. While in graduate school, she served as a graduate athletic training student with the Arkansas football and women’s gymnastics teams as well as with the Bentonville and Rogers Heritage high schools.
