Peter Banas, former men’s and women’s assistant tennis coach at Sacred Heart University, was named assistant women's tennis coach at Fordham University in January of 2018.
Prior to his stint at Sacred Heart, Banas served as the head tennis professional at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in New York from 2014-2016. During that time he was a hitting partner for John McEnroe during the ATP Senior Tour and coached and advised Agnieszka Radwanska ranked top 10 on the WTA tour, Jelena Ostapenko winner of the 2017 French Open and semi- finalist at the 2017 Wimbledon and Noah Rubin ranked top 200 on the ATP tour.
A 2015 graduate of the University of Louisiana – Lafayette where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management and master degree of Business Administration (MBA), Banas was a member of the ULL men’s tennis team, earning All-America honors, ranking among the top 25 in the NCAA Division I and points on the ATP tour singles and doubles tour.
