Ryszard Gorski enters his third year with Fordham as he joined the staff as assistant coach/goalkeeper coach to head coach Jim McElderry in 2008.
Gorski will also serve as goalkeeper coach for the Fordham women's soccer team as well. Prior to joining the Rams, Gorski served as an assistant coach at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida since 2006. Over his time there, Saint Leo posted a 19-11-4 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.
In addition to his duties at Saint Leo, Gorski was the Director of Goalkeeping for the Central Pasco United Spartans in Land O' Lakes, Florida from 2006 to 2008. He also served as the Under-11 Girls Head Coach for Central Pasco.
Prior to his coaching career, Gorski, a native of Scotland, was the starting goalkeeper for Long Island University from 2002-05, posting. As a junior in 2003, he was ranked 13th in the nation with a 0.64 goals against average and broke the school record for not conceding a goal in 621 minutes of play. He was selected First Team All-Northeast Conference as a senior, and was also an All-New York Regional All-American.
Gorski's play also earned the Blackbirds a Northeast Conference Championship and the school's first NCAA Tournament appearance in almost 20 years. He finished his career with 196 saves, a 0.87 goals against average, an .802 save percentage, and 22 shutouts in 52 career games.
Following college, Gorski signed with Huntly FC of the Highland Football League in Scotland. He played a season there before returning stateside. Gorski currently represents Great Britain at the 2009 World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia. This is Gorski's second appearance at the World University Games, having played in 2005 in Izmir, Turkey. He also played in the United Soccer Leagues- Player Development League with various clubs over the last six years. He also played for Dundee FC of the Scottish Premier League as a youth player.
Gorski holds a business management degree from Long Island University and a master's degree in business administration from Saint Leo University. He holds a USSF "D" coaching license, a NSCAA National Goalkeeping License, a NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma, and various coaching certifications with the Scottish Football Association.
