In his first season on the Fordham men’s tennis coaching staff is volunteer assistant Agustin Janssen.
Janssen comes to Fordham from Oklahoma Baptist University where he was both a player and a coach. As an assistant coach, he assisted with both the men’s and women’s programs, leading the former to a 26-5 record and the latter to a 27-3 record in the 2016-17 season. Both programs had stellar postseason runs with the women winning a NCCAA Regional and National Championship and the men winning the Great American Conference Championship, the NCCAA Regional Championship and a NCCAA National Championship.
As a player, Janssen played in over 100 matches over a four year career for the Bison. He helped lead OBU to a Southern Athletic Conference Championship in 2013 and 2014 as well as an NAIA Regional Championship in and NAIA National Tennis Championship appearance in 2013.
Janssen also represented his home country of Colombia in the 2006 Junior Davis Cup.
Janssen graduated with a degree in Exercise Strength and Conditioning from Oklahoma Baptist in 2014.
