Mikela Ryan, who was a member of the Fordham Cheerleading squad from 2012-2016 and served as team captain from 2014-2016, was named head cheerleading coach at the university in August of 2018.
 
Ryan is currently employed by the Wildlife Conservation Society headquartered at the Bronx Zoo. As the Manager of Special Events, Ryan is responsible for high level donor stewardship and cultivation events to achieve a $2M+ fundraising goal.
Previously, Ryan was the Alumni Relations Officer in the Fordham Office of Alumni Relations. She was responsible for working with the assistant director in planning, managing and executing annual Presidential Regional Tours and Summer Send-Offs. She also designed and implemented strategies to maximize chapter effectiveness and increase volunteer involvement/leadership.
 
A 2016 graduate of Fordham with a degree in sociology and urban studies, Ryan also completed a Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing at Yale’s School of Management in 2019. She served on the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the United Student Government (USG) as an undergraduate. Ryan also worked with the CitySquash program as a tutor and mentor.
