Tyler Caserta is the newest addition to the Fordham baseball coaching staff.
In his first season in 2024, three players garnered All-Atlantic 10 accolades, led by Second Team All-Conference third baseman Daniel Bucciero. Aidan Dowd earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team with Gannon Brady selected to the Academic All-Conference team. Brady and Bucciero also picked up CSC Academic All-District honors along with Andres Perez, Tommy McAndrews, and Ryan Thiesse.
The 2025 season saw the Rams return to the Atlantic 10 Championship with their first playoff berth since 2019. Anthony Grabau and Taylor Kirk both earned spots on the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, giving Fordham five selections over a three-season stretch, while Gannon Brady and Andrew Kanellis were tabbed for the Academic All-Conference Team. Brady also earned CSC Academic All-District honors along with Daniel Bucciero, Tommy McAndrews, Matt Dieguez, and Koen Smith. Following the year, Bucciero became the latest Fordham draft pick, as he was selected by the Athletics in the ninth round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Caserta arrived at Rose Hill after spending the 2023 season at Iona University, where he served as hitting and outfield coach, as well as third base coach. He guided the Gaels to their best statistical hitting numbers in the past ten seasons, batting .270 as a group and averaging over five runs per contest.

Prior to his time in New Rochelle, Caserta spent two seasons at Santa Barbara City College as hitting/head assistant coach. He helped lead Santa Barbara to a regional appearance in 2022, after the team led the league in home runs.Â

His other prior collegiate stop was at UC Santa Barbara, serving as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons. In 2019, he was a part of the staff that won the Big West Championship and had 10 MLB draft picks. The team finished with a 45-11 record and ranked fourth in the nation.

In addition to his collegiate coaching, Caserta has also been a part of a summer league coaching staffs, including the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders of the Northwoods League and the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate League.

Caserta played his collegiate baseball at Central Connecticut State from 2008-11 and was an independent professional player from 2014 to 2018, playing for the Bridgeport Bluefish (2014, 2017-18) and the New Hampshire Wild (2015-16).

He earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State in 2011, while earning his master’s degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire in 2020.
