Bronx, N.Y. – It was a battle of the teacher vs. the pupil tonight in the Rose Hill Gym. The teacher was St. John's head volleyball coach Joanne Persico while the student was Fordham head coach
Bryan Weber, who served on Persico's staff for 12 years. Tonight it was the teacher who came out on top as the Red Storm shutout the Rams, 3-0.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 4-3 on the year while St. John's improves to 5-2.
How it Happened
• Scores of the sets were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-19.
• The Rams led in all three sets, taking five leads in set two, a set that saw eleven ties before St. John's pulled out the win.

Sophia Kuyn had a hand in four of the ten Fordham blocks in the game and junior Ozge Ozaslan paced the Rams with a game-high 22 digs.
What's Next?
• The Rams return when they travel north to Rhode Island to participate in the Bryant Invitational on September 11 and 12. The Rams open play by facing Marist on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and then take on Merrimack on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and then Bryant at 4:00 p.m.
