Statesboro, Ga. – The Fordham volleyball squad opened play at the Georgia Southern Invitational on Friday, dropping matches to North Florida and Kennesaw State by identical 3-0 scores at Hanner fieldhouse.
 
With the losses, Fordham evens its record at 6-6 on the season.
 
Game 1 – North Florida 3, Fordham 0
• Scores of the sets were 27-25, 25-20, and 25-22.
 
• Midway through the set, the Rams used five straight points to turn a 15-11 deficit into a 16-15 lead, keyed by a pair of kills from freshman Johanna Franzen.
 
• The Rams trailed 19-16 but run off four unanswered points to take a 20-19 lead on a kill from freshman Giada Ianuale.
 
• The lead changed hands eight times the rest of the way before North Florida pulled out the win.
 
• Junior Mila Micunovic led the Rams attack with 13 kills with no errors, hitting at a .565 clip, while freshman Giada Ianuale added 18 assists and two aces.
 
• Junior Özge Özaslan finished with 18 digs
 
Game 2 – Kennesaw State 3, Fordham 0
• Scores of the sets were 25-17, 25-15, and 25-22.
 
• Franzen recoded five kills for the Rams while Ianuale added 12 assists.
 
What's Next?
• The Rams close out play at the Georgia Southern Invitational on Saturday as they take on the host school at 12:00 p.m.
