Bronx, N.Y. – (September 1, 2026) – Behind a stellar serving effort and 15 kills in each set, the Fordham volleyball won its third match in a row on Tuesday, sweeping a three-set match from the FDU Knights at the Rose Hill Gym.
Final set scores were 25-17, 25-18, and 25-23.
THE MATCH
- The first set was dominated by freshman Andrea Stanojevic for Fordham, recording five kills, three aces, and nine digs in an eight-point set win.
- Set two saw another freshman step up, as Johanna Franzen led the Rams' attack with seven kills in a seven-point set win.
- Set three saw the teams fight back and forth with the score tied at 23 all before a pair of FDU errors gave Fordham the match.
GAME NOTES
- Fordham ended up with 15 kills in all three sets and were overall led by Franzen with 10 kills and six digs.
- The Rams also totaled 11 aces in the match with Stanojevic having four, Addison Newblatt with three, Lola Fernandez with two, and one each for Giada Ianuale and Franzen.
- In addition to her ace, Ianuale filled up her stat line with 24 assists, 10 digs, and four kills.
- Bridget Woodruff and Tatum Holderied also added eight kills a piece with Özge Özaslan posting a match-high 19 digs.
The Rams are next in action on Friday, September 4
th, as they participate in the Blue Hen Invitational, hosted by the University of Delaware. Fordham will play New Haven at 1:00 PM with a match against host Delaware at 6:00 PM.
