The Rams were credited with an unofficial school record 43 shots to just eight for the Wildcats and Fordham had 13 corners to just two for the home team. With the loss, Fordham falls to 1-2-1 on the season while Villanova goes to 3-0-1.
The Rams kept the Villanova keeper, who was credited with 13 saves, busy all game but couldn't find the equalizer after the Wildcats took the lead.

What's Next?
• The Rams closed out their season opening stretch of five straight road games with another trip to Pennsylvania, traveling to Easton. Pa., to take on the Lafayette College Leopards on Saturday, September 5, at 4:00 p.m. on Gummeson Grounds.
• It will be the 13th meeting between the Rams and the Leopards.
• Lafayette leads the all-time series, which started in 1990 when Fordham was a member of the Patriot League, 6-5-1, but Fordham has taken the past two meetings.
