BRONX, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams open the 2026 season, Fordham's 126th varsity season, by hosting the Colgate Raiders for a Patriot League matchup at Moglia Stadium on Friday, August 28 22, at 6:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (p-b-p) and Andrew Posadas (analyst) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and the
WFUV YouTube channel with Tucker Austin (p-b-p) and Nathan Roger (analyst) handling the announcing chores.
Fordham enters the season after going 1-11 last fall, 1-6 in the Patriot League, while Colgate enters 2026 after going 5-7 last fall, 3-4 in the Patriot League.
A few notes on the game:
• Friday's game will be the 38th meeting between Fordham and Colgate on the gridiron.
• The Raiders lead the all-time series, which started in 1989, 27-10.
• The two teams have split that last six meetings with Colgate taking last year's matchup, 44-21, on September 20 in Hamilton as Cole Fulton rushed for 105 yards and Zach Osborne completed 13 of 17 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns while Fordham quarterback
Gunnar Smith threw for 213 yards and three scores.
• The Rams took the 2024 meeting, 20-14, at Moglia Stadium as Mekai Felton hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass from
Jack Capaldi with 5:23 remaining to break a 14-14 tie.
• The contest with Colgate on August 28 is the earliest Patriot League opener for Fordham.
• The previous earliest League opener was Sept, 2 against Towson in 2000.
