Washington, D.C. – (August 13, 2026) – Georgetown's Abigail Droner and Lizze Heller each scored twice, as the 14^th-ranked Hoyas topped the Fordham Rams, 4-1, in the season opener for both teams at Shaw Field on Thursday night.
 
THE GAME

• The match was scoreless at halftime with Fordham limiting Georgetown to just two shots on goal.
• The Hoyas broke the deadlock in the 49^th minute, as a replay challenge awarded a penalty kick to Georgetown, which Lizzie Heller converted for a 1-0 lead.
• Heller made it, 2-0, in the 54^th minute, deflecting a cross from Abigail Dorner from the far side of the field.
• Georgetown increased the lead to 4-0, as Abigail Droner netted goals in the 59^th and 79^th minutes with Caroline Spengler registering the assist n both goals.
• Fordham broke up the shutout in the 81^st minute, as Annie Maguire's cross into the box was deflected by the goalkeeper to Baylee Canet, who corralled the ball and scored her first career goal.

 
GAME NOTES

• Addison Green registered five saves in net for Fordham.
• The goal by Canet was her first ever goal in 24 career games.
• Fordham is 0-2 all-time against Georgetown.
• Fordham finishes its opening week road trip at Maryland on Sunday afternoon at noon.
