St. Louis, Mo. – Those of a certain age remember the phrase "Did you eat your Wheaties this morning?" Today, it's most likely that Fordham sophomore
Victoria Klimaszewski could answer yes to that question as she led the fourth-seeded Rams to a 7-3 win over fifth-seeded Saint Joseph's with her arm and her bat in the first game of the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Championship at the Billiken Sports Complex.
Â
With the win, Fordham improves to 24-26 on the season and advances to play top-seeded Loyola Chicago tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. (EDT)
Â
Klimaszewski threw 3.2 innings of no-hit ball in relief, striking out two, and connected on a three-run home run in the fifth to break a 3-3 tie.
Â
How it Happened
- The Rams jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Neleh Nogay led off with a walk and came around to score on an errant throw on a double play attempt.
- Later in the inning Eva Koratsis reached on a bases loaded fielder's choice which brought in the second run.
- The Hawks tied it up with two in the third and one in the fourth.
- In the Fordham fifth, Kate McGuire led off with a walk and Sophie Nesturrick followed with a double to put runners on second and third.
- One out later, Klimaszewski sent the ball over the right-center field fence, her third round tripper of the season, to break the 3-3 tie.
- Koratsis added a solo home run in the sixth, her seventh of the year.
- Klimaszewski then set down Saint Joseph's in order to end the game.
