Rams to be seeded fourth at Atlantic 10 Championship

2026 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship Bracket | Atlantic 10 Championship Central

Chicago, Ill. – Despite recording 13 hits, the Fordham softball Rams couldn't overcome timely hitting from the Loyola University Chicago bats, falling to the Ramblers, 10-8, at the Loyola Softball Field.

With the loss, Fordham closes the regular season with a 23-26 overall record, 13-11 in the Atlantic 10, while Loyola goes to 26-22 overall, a league-best 18-6 in the conference. The Rams finish in a tie for third with Dayton and Saint Joseph's in the conference standings. However Dayton holds the tiebreaker between the three teams, winning two of three games against both, while the Rams are 3-3 against the two and Saint Joseph's is 2-4 so Fordham will enter the Atlantic 10 Championship as the four seed.

Freshman Sadira Forcucci led the Fordham offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI while senior Eva Koratsis was also 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI

How It Happened
  • Fordham jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first on a Forcucci RBI single.
  • The Rambler took the lead with two in the home half of the first.
  • The Rams knotted the game at two in the third when Neleh Nogay led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, and scored on a Nicki Sudall single.
  • Loyola regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the third before Fordham retied it in the bottom of the fourth on a Victoria Klimaszewski RBI single.
  • The Ramblers broke the tie with a four-run fourth on a pair of two-run home runs.
  • Fordham pulled within one, 7-6 with a three-run fifth on a Sophie Nesturrick bases loaded walk, a Klimaszewski RBI single, and a Nogay sacrifice fly.
  • But the Ramblers came back with three of their own to make it a 10-6 game in the bottom of the fifth before back-to-back home runs from Forcucci and Koratsis in the sixth made it a two-run game.
Notes
  • Nogay collected two hits in the game to bring her career total to 248, moving her ahead of Sydney Canessa and into fourth on the Fordham career list.
  • Nogay has hit safely in her last seven games and has scored at least one run in 13 of her last 14.
  • Forcucci's home run was her team-leading eighth of the season and the two RBI brings her season total to 44, tops among all A-10 players.
  • Forcucci has hit safely in six straight and 12 of her last 13.
  • Koratsis' home run was her sixth of the season, the second most for the Rams.
  • Fordham collected 34 hits in the three-game series, batting .366 (34-93) on the weekend.
