Baseball Drops High Scoring Affair to Sacred Heart

Ernie Little, Taylor Kirk & Anthony Grabau Drive in Two Runs Each for Fordham

Bronx, N.Y. – (April 28, 2026) – Sacred Heart's Peter Link hit two home runs and drove in four, as the Pioneers defeated the Fordham Rams in a high scoring affair, 13-10, at Houlihan Park on Tuesday afternoon.
 
THE GAME
  • Fordham started the scoring in the first inning, as Anthony Grabau hit a two-run home run to right, his ninth of the season.
  • The Rams made it 3-0 in the second inning when Taylor Kirk drew a bases loaded walk.
  • Sacred Heart responded with seven unanswered runs over the third and four innings for a 7-3 lead, highlighted by a two-run home run by Peter Link and a solo home run by Gavin Donohue.
  • Fordham came back with the next seven runs from the fourth to seventh to re-take the lead at 10-7.Tommy McAndrews, Joey Donnelly, and Mason Dean each had an RBI-double in that stretch, while Ernie Little drove in two runs on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly.
  • Unfortunately for the Rams, the Pioneers had one more rally in the eighth inning, scoring six runs for a 13-10 lead, which included Link's second two-run home run of the game.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Kirk finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, while Grabau and Little each drove in two runs.
  • Tim Ford also recorded hits and two runs scored with Tommy Markey going 1-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI.
  • Aric Berg (1-1) took the loss in relief, allowing three runs over 1.1 innings.
 
UP NEXT
  • Fordham will next be in action on Friday, May 1st, as the Rams head to Rhode Island for the first of a three-game series.
