Baseball Surges Past George Mason, 11-4

Tim Ford Drives in Three Runs & Scores Twice to Lead Fordham Attack

Bronx, N.Y. – (April 24, 2026) – Behind three RBI from Tim Ford and seven strong innings from starting pitcher Beau Elson, the Fordham Rams opened their three-game Atlantic 10 series against George Mason with an 11-4 win at Houlihan Park on Friday afternoon.
 
With the win, Fordham improved to 20-23 on the year, 10-9 in the Atlantic 10, while George Mason fell to 19-20 overall, 10-9 in the league.
 
THE GAME
  • George Mason got the game rolling with a run in the first inning, capitalizing on a Fordham error.
  • Fordham quickly tied the game in the third inning, as Anthony Grabau launched a solo home run to right field, his eighth of the season.
  • After the Patriots got the lead back in the top of the fourth at 2-1, the Rams rallied for six runs in the bottom of the inning for a 7-2 lead, highlighted by a two-run double by Tim Ford and a two-run single by Joey Donnelly.
  • George Mason closed back within three, 7-4, as Jake Butler and Matthew Westley hit back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the seventh.
  • Fordham answered back with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and one in the eighth for the 11-4 final score.
 
GAME NOTES
  • Beau Elson improved to 5-4 on the season, allowing two earned runs over seven innings with six strikeouts.
  • Mason Dean finished 4-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Ford was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI.
  • Donnelly ended up 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI with Grabau having a home run and three runs scored.
 
UP NEXT
  • The two teams will have Saturday off due to an inclement weather forecast, leaving the series to finish on Sunday, April 26th with a doubleheader, starting at 11:00 AM.
