BRONY, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis team opened play at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship the same way they finished the final nine matches of the regular season. With a 4-0 win. Today it was a shutout of eighth-seeded Dayton in the quarterfinals at the USTA National Campus.
 
The win advances Fordham to the semifinals where the Rams will face fourth-seeded Davidson on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
 
Fordham opened the match taking the doubles point, winning the two completed doubles matches. Valerija Kargina and Lily Chitambar got it started with a 6-1 win over Christian Chin and Haley Klein at second doubles before Catalina Padilla and Paola Dalmonico clinched the doubles point for the Rams with a 6-1 decision over Caroline Boyle and Montserrat Sierra at third doubles.
 
The Rams then won the first three completed singles matches, all in straight sets, for the win. Paola Dalmonico defeated Chin at first singles, 6-2, 6-3 before Kargina upended Sierra at the second position, 6-2, 6-1. Chitambar then ended the match with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Mallory Hitchcock at fourth singles.
