Philadelphia, Pa. – (April 17, 2026) – Fordham's
Anthony Grabau hit two home runs and drove in three, while
Mason Dean had three doubles and two runs scored, as the Rams defeated the La Salle Explorers, 9-7, at Hank DeVincent Field in Philadelphia.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened with a 1-0 lead in the first inning, as Anthony Grabau hit a solo home run, his sixth of the season.
- The Rams then put three on the board in the second inning for a 4-0 lead, highlighted by an RBI-triple from Taylor Kirk and an RBI-single by Tim Ford.
- Tommy McAndrews made it 5-0 in the third inning, hitting a solo home run to left, his team leading ninth of the season.
- Grabau then connected on a two-run home run for a 7-0 advantage in the fourth inning.
- La Salle powered its way back into the game, courtesy of Alec Welshans, who hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning and a solo home run in the sixth to pull the Explorers within three, 7-4.
- Welshans then hit his third home run of the game in the bottom of the eighth, this time a two-run shot.
- However, Fordham picked up an RBI single by Tommy Markey and an RBI double from Mason Dean to close a 9-7 victory for the Rams.
GAME NOTES
- Grabau finished 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI, while Ford was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
- Dean ended up 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI.
- For McAndrews, the home run in the third inning was the 25th of his career, moving him into a tie for sixth on Fordham's all-time list.
- Beau Elson (4-4) earned the win, allowing four runs over six innings with five strikeouts, while Declan Cawley recorded his fourth save with three innings of relief with four strikeouts.
