Bronx, N.Y. – (March 22, 2026) – Fordham's
Caden Young delivered the game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning, as the Rams walked off with a 4-3 win over the Richmond Spiders on Sunday at Houlihan Park.
With the win, Fordham moved to 11-11 overall, 4-2 in the Atlantic 10, while Richmond fell to 12-12 on the year, 1-5 in the league.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened with a 1-0 lead in the first inning, as Tommy McAndrews laced an RBI-double down the left field line to score Tommy Markey from first.
- After Richmond knotted the game at one in the second inning on an RBI-double, the Rams reclaimed the lead with an RBI-single from Joey Donnelly, plating Anthony Grabau from second base.
- The Spiders followed with a two-run home run by Dylan Winbrenner in the fifth inning to snag a 3-2 advantage.
- Down to his final strike with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth inning, Caden Young came through for the Rams, connecting on a walk-off, two-run single to right center for the 4-3 win.
GAME NOTES
- Robbie Stewart (4-0) earned the win on the mound for Fordham, throwing 4.1 innings of hitless relief with four strikeouts.
- Starter Aidan Dowd went the first 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
- McAndrews finished 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI, while Young had the two RBI in the ninth inning.
- Taylor Kirk, Markey, and Anthony Grabau were each 1-for-4 with a run scored in the game.
