Softball Rally Falls Just Shy at St. Bonaventure

The Rams outscored the Bonnies 7-1 in the final four innings

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y --Sadira Forcucci collected four RBIs, highlighted by her third home run of the year, but the Rams' comeback fell just short as Fordham University Softball fell to St. Bonaventure 9-7 Sunday afternoon.

Forcucci went 1-for-2 with a home run in addition to her four RBIs for the Rams. Nicki Sudall put together a standout day at the plate as well, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Mikayla Swan also chipped in for Fordham, putting together three hits in three trips to the plate while adding a triple and an RBI. Sunday's game was delayed for just over 30 minutes midway through the sixth inning due to inclement weather.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 8-0 through three, the Rams first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Fordham's offense started clicking and put up four runs, led by a three-run home run off the bat of Forcucci.

The Rams kept the Bonnies off the board before narrowing the gap further in the fifth. Fordham scored twice on Sudall's two-run homer, which brought the score to 8-6 in favor of the Bonnies.

Fordham kept the Bonnies off the scoreboard before narrowing the gap to 8-7 in the sixth. The Rams were unable to get any closer, as Saint Bonaventure added one run to their tally on the way to a 9-7 final.
