BRONX, N.Y. -- The visitors pulled ahead with a four-run third inning, and despite scoring three runs themselves late in the day, Fordham University Softball fell to St. John's 7-3 Wednesday afternoon at Bahoshy Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Scoreless through the first two frames, the Red Storm rallied to load the bases ahead of a grand slam to pull ahead, 4-0. The Rams first put a run on the board in the fourth inning on an RBI single from freshman Sadira Forcucci, scoring senior Neleh Nogay from second base.
The Red Storm expanded their lead to 6-1 before the Rams offense got back to work, cutting into the lead again in the fifth. Fordham picked up two runs when a single from senior Nicki Sudall brought home freshman Aubrey Zvovushe-Ramos and sophomore Ava Vandernoth, which brought the score to 6-3 in favor of the Red Storm. The Rams were unable to get any closer, as St. John's added one run to their tally on the way to a 7-3 final.
