Bronx, N.Y. – (March 18, 2026) – Fordham's
Ernie Little sparked the Rams' offense on Wednesday with three runs scored and four stolen bases, as the Rams opened a nine-game homestand with a 10-5 victory over the Marist Red Foxes at Houlihan Park.
Fordham has now won three straight games to improve to 9-10 on the year, while Marist fell to 5-14.
THE GAME
- With the game scoreless through two, Marist opened the scoring with a single run in the third inning on an RBI-groundout.
- Fordham answered with three runs in the bottom of the third inning, netting runs on a wild pitch, a bases loaded walk to Anthony Grabau, and a sacrifice fly by Caden Young.
- The two teams matched their run total from the previous inning in the fourth, making it a 6-2 lead for Fordham, highlighted by an RBI-double by Taylor Kirk.
- The Red Foxes cut the Fordham advantage to 6-4 in the fifth inning, taking advantage of two errors in the frame.
- The Rams then picked up insurance runs to build up a 10-4 edge with a run in the sixth on a wild pitch, two in the seventh on an error, and one in the eighth on a solo home run by Joey Donnelly, his third of the season.
- Marist scored once in the ninth for the 10-5 final score.
GAME NOTES
- Robbie Stewart improved to 3-0 on the season, as he struck out three batters over two innings of relief.
- Starter Declan Cawley went the first two innings, allowing two hits with three strikeouts, while Andrew Kapica tossed two scoreless innings of relief later in the game.
- Ernie Little finished the game 2-for-3 with three runs scored and four stolen bases, while Donnelly was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a home run.
- Kirk and Tommy Markey also added a hit and two runs scored each.
