BRONX, N.Y. - Junior Mikayla Swan and freshman Chloe Trimandilis each collected three hits in game two Saturday to help lead the Fordham Rams over the Dayton Flyers 15-7, to split the home opening doubleheader at Bahoshy Field.
The Rams (8-12, 2-3) fell 2-1 in an eight-inning matchup to the Flyers in game one, before outscoring Dayton 14-1 over the final four innings of game two, winning by run rule in five behind a six-run fourth inning, and four-run fifth.
Sadira Forcucci tallied her first two collegiate home runs with a solo shot in the seventh inning of game one, and a two-run blast to keep the Rams in the fight in game two. Swan and Trimandilis each went 3-for-4 in game two, scoring a pair of runs each alongside driving in two and three RBI's, respectively. Nicki Sudall also left the yard in game two, and Ava Vandernoth drove in three RBI's for the Rams in the latter portion of the afternoon.

HOW GAME ONE HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0 with one out in the seventh inning, Forcucci put Fordham on the board with a one-out solo home run to tie the game and send it to extras. Dayton then scored in the top of the eighth inning to break the tie and grab the 2-1 win.
Junior Olivia Simcoe (3-6) started and took the loss in game one, as the right-hander went eight innings, giving up two runs on three hits, allowing one walk and striking out five.
At the plate, the Rams were led by freshman Sadira Forcucci, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run to send it to extras. Senior Neleh Nogay furnished a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rams got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Senior Nicki Sudall put Fordham on the board with a two-out solo home run oin the opening frame.
The Flyers then rallied to score six runs in the second, and took a 6-1 lead before the Rams got back on the board in the second. Senior Neleh Nogay's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where Fordham scored twice, which brought the deficit down to 6-3.
Dayton expanded their lead to 7-3 before the Fordham offense got back in action, scoring two more and reducing that lead to 7-5 in the third. The Rams added two to their tally on Forcucci's second home run of the day, a two-run blast.
Fordham kept the Flyers off the board before taking the lead in the fourth. The Rams scored six runs in the inning, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Vandernoth and a two-run single from Swan, flipping the score to 11-7 in favor of Fordham.
The Maroon and White kept Dayton scoreless again before building on their lead to 15-7 the following inning to close things out. The Fordham offense piled up four runs, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of Trimandilis to make it 13-6, followed by a pair of errors by Dayton to bring the deciding runs home to end the game by run rule in the fifth.
Freshman Sydney May picked up her first collegiate victory out of the bullpen for Fordham. The right-hander went the final 3.1 innings, giving up one run on four hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.
In addition to her three hits, Swan had two RBIs to lead the Rams. Trimandilis added three RBIs to her three-hit performance as well. Freshman Sadira Forcucci also contributed for Fordham, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a home run, two walks and three RBIs.
