Davidson, N.C. – (March 14, 2026) – Fordham's
Chase Hanawalt struck out a career-high 13 batters on Saturday afternoon to lead the Rams to a 6-4 win over the Davidson Wildcats at Wilson Field.
Fordham improved to 7-10 overall, 1-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Davidson fell to 9-8 and 1-1.
THE GAME
- Fordham opened with a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning, collecting RBI-singles by Matt Dieguez and Ernie Little.
- The Rams expanded the lead to 6-0 in the sixth inning, beginning with an RBI-double by Madden Ocko.
- Anthony Grabau netted a two-run triple in that inning, while Mason Dean notched an RBI-single.
- The rest of the story was Fordham starting pitcher Chase Hanawalt who struck out a career-high 13 batters in the game to earn the win, while Andrew Kapica closed out the final two innings.
GAME NOTES
- Hanawalt (1-2) allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings with a career-best 13 strikeouts for the win.
- The 13 strikeouts for Hanawalt were the most by a Ram since Matt Mikulski had 15 strikeouts against Saint Joseph's in 2021.
- Ocko finished 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Little and Taylor Kirk each had two hits.
- Grabau scored twice to go with his two-run triple.
