Baseball Falls To UNCW in Series Finale

Wilmington, N.C. – (February 22, 2026) – UNCW's Bromley Thornton threw six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, as the Seahawks shut out the Fordham Rams for the second straight contest, 7-0, at Brooks Field in Wilmington, North Carolina.
 
Fordham is now 1-6 on the season, while UNCW moved to 4-3.
 
THE GAME

• The Seahawks opened the scoring in the first on an RBI-double by Danny O'Brien and followed with three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.
• UNCW then sealed the win with a three-run fifth inning.
• Fordham were held to three hits in the game by four UNCW pitchers.

 
GAME NOTES

• Aidan Dowd (0-1) took the loss, allowing three earned runs over four innings with five strikeouts.
• Andrew Kapica bounced back from a tough debut last week, as he threw 3.2 innings of one-hit relief with three strikeouts.
• Taylor Kirk, Anthony Grabau, and Joey Donnelly each had a hit for the Rams.
