Simcoe's No-Hitter Propels Fordham Past North Dakota, 5-0

Simcoe threw the 19th no-hitter in Fordham softball history

San Diego, Calif. --Junior Olivia Simcoe turned in a stellar performance on Sunday, tossing her first career no-hitter to lead Fordham University Softball over North Dakota, 5-0 to close the Campbell/Cartier Classic at San Diego State.

Simcoe tossed the 19th no-hitter in program history for the Rams, striking out a career-best 10 batters in the outing Sunday. At the plate, the Rams were paced by senior Eva Koratsis, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a triple, a walk and three RBIs. Senior Nicki Sudall put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Junior Mikayla Swan also helped out for Fordham, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Rams took the lead in the third, as Koratsis came across to score the lone run of the inning on a fielder's choice for Fordham and get them on the board.

From there, the offense exploded for four runs in the fourth inning, as they loaded the bases before driving in four runs in the frame. With two outs in the frame, the Rams juiced the bases ahead of a three-run triple from Koratsis that saw her clear the bases and extend a 4-0 lead, before coming home on the next at bat, an RBI single for Sudall down the left field.
