Armonk, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis team got back on the winning track on Saturday night with a 6-1 win over Wagner College at the Armonk Sports Complex.
 
"Good win tonight against the best Wagner team I have faced in my time at Fordham," said head coach David Slater. "The whole team came out with focus and a great attitude. A great result and more importantly a great performance. Three sophomores playing in the top four all won."
 
The match opened with the Rams taking the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches. Dhananjay Athreya and Filip Horak took second doubles from Joshua Zhou and Gabriele Zugarelli, 6-3, and then Will Lokier and Nicolas Garnier defeated Tom Lamers and Sebastian Dobson, 6-4.
 
The Rams then won five of the six singles matches for the 6-1 victory.

Mateusz Gradzki took first singles from Eddie Schmidt, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, while Horak was victorious at the second position over Lukas Escher, 6-4, 7-6(7).
 
Dhillon Virdee-Oakley picked up the win at third singles for Fordham with a 6-2, 6-2, win over Lamers, and Lokier shut out Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez at the fifth spot, 6-0, 6-0. Athreya was the fifth singles winner for the Rams with a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Vibhu Challagundla at fifth singles.
