Baseball Falls in Finale at New Mexico

Grabau & Hanawalt Hit Home Runs for the Rams

Albuquerque, N.M. – (February 15, 2026) – The Fordham baseball team fell to New Mexico on Sunday afternoon by a 24-5 score in seven innings at Lobo Baseball Field.
 
THE GAME
  • After New Mexico opened with a 1-0 led in the first, Fordham tied the game at one in the second, as the Rams loaded the bases and forced in a run when Tim Ford was hit by a pitch.
  • Fordham then grabbed a 3-1 lead in the third on a two-run home run by Anthony Grabau.
  • The Lobos answered with a seven-run third inning for an 8-3, highlighted by a grand slam home run by Garrett Rede.
  • New Mexico then scored six runs in the fourth, two in the fifth, and eighth in the sixth for a final total of 24 runs in the game.
  • The Rams remaining runs for Fordham came on an RBI-double by Caden Young in the sixth and a solo home run to left by Chase Hanawalt in the seventh.
GAME NOTES
  • Grabau was 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI, while Hanawalt had the pinch-hit solo home run late in the game.
  • Young and Tommy McAndrews were each 1-for-2 with Taylor Kirk going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
UP NEXT
  • Fordham baseball (0-4) is back on the diamond on Friday, February 20th, as the Rams start a three-game series at UNC Wilmington.
