San Diego, Calif. - Falling in a pair of games Saturday afternoon, Fordham University Softball was outlasted 6-1 by Baylor and 2-1 by San Diego State.
Trailing 5-0 in game one, the Rams put its only run on the board in the fifth inning, as junior Mikayla Swan came across to score for Fordham. The Rams were unable to get any closer, as Baylor added one run to their tally on the way to a 6-1 final.
In game two, the Rams put a run on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the third inning. Fordham got an RBI single from senior Nicki Sudall, scoring senior Neleh Nogay from third base. The Rams were unable to hold the lead, as San Diego State scored two times over the remaining five innings to grab the 2-1 win.
Senior Holly Beeman started the ballgame and went seven innings, surrendering one run on five hits, walking none and striking out three, sophomore Elizabeth Gaisior being credited with the loss pitching in extras for Fordham.
