Bronx, N.Y. – Making the first of two trips down to the state of Virginia this month, Fordham University women's basketball takes on Richmond Wednesday night on ESPN+ at 2:00 p.m.
Fordham (8-6, 0-3) was outlasted in the second half of Saturday's clash with Saint Joseph's, 78-49, seeking its first win in conference play. Richmond (12-4, 2-1) is coming off of an 80-60 win over St. Bonaventure on the road Saturday.
All time, the Spiders hold a 16-11 edge in the series, though Fordham claimed the most recent win as the only team in the league to defeat Richmond last season, winning 80-78 at the Rose Hill Gym just over a year ago on Jan. 2, 2025.

Holding opponents to just 36.9% shooting on the year, the Rams post the best field goal percentage defense in the A-10, 66th best in the country, and also pace the league averaging 26.9 bench points per game, 42nd best of any team in the nation.
The Maroon and White also sit 56th in the country in steals per game at 10.7/game, the best average in the league as well, and rank 52nd in the country in turnovers forced per game, forcing opponents into 20.50/game, also best in the A-10.
The Rams sit 10th among all Division I teams in the nation averaging 17.0 offensive rebounds per game and are 49th nationally in overall rebounds at 41.21, both second best in the A-10.
Fordham has drawn 19.14 free throws attempts per game, leading the league and ranked 93rd in the country, and are second in the A-10 in free throws made per game, averaging 13.14/game.
Scoring in double figures in each of her first 13 games as a Ram, Alexis Black paces the Rams offense and sits fifth in the nation in free throws made with 83 on the year, and is 40th amongst all Division I players with 272 points scored, averaging 19.4 points per game, 23rd best in the nation. Black is top five in the league in points, assists, steals, three pointers made, three point percentage, and free throws attempted and made.
