Bronx, N.Y. - Returning home for the first of two straight games at the Rose Hill Gym, Fordham University women's basketball hosts Rhode Island Saturday afternoon.
The Battle of the Rams will tipoff at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+ with Mike Watts and Andrew Posadas on the call. Saturday will be Alumni day, welcoming home all of our former Rams alongside a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Fordham (9-12, 1-9) looks to snap a four-game losing streak, after a 69-58 loss on the road at VCU Wednesday afternoon. Sitting atop the league standings, Rhode Island (14-2, 9-0) remains unbeaten in league play, coming off a 79-66 victory at Dayton last time out.
The Maroon and White hold a slim 23-22 lead in the all-time series with Rhody, though the visiting Rams have claimed the last two meetings, including last season, 53-35. Fordham holds a 7-3 record in the last ten meetings between the two sides dating back to 2018. The two sides will face off once again in just a couple of weeks when Fordham heads out to Kingston, R.I. on Feb. 21.

The Rams are second in the league and 50th best of any team in the nation, averaging 24.3 bench points per game.Â
Fordham also sits 64th in the country in steals per game at 10.2/game, the second best average in the league as well, and rank 59th in the country in turnovers forced per game, forcing opponents into 19.76/game, leading the A-10.
The Rams sit 11th among all Division I teams in the nation, leading the A-10 averaging 16.2 offensive rebounds per game and are 79th nationally in overall rebounds at 39.57, third best in the conference.
Scoring in double figures in each of her first 13 games as a Ram, Alexis Black has paced the Rams offense and sits 47th in the nation in free throws made with 86 on the year, third most in the A-10 after returning to the floor Wednesday for the first time since Jan. 3.
Last Thursday, former Fordham women's basketball player and 2019 Atlantic 10 Champion, Edona Thaqi '21, M.S. '22, was named as an Analyst and Reporter for the inaugural season of coverage for the WNBA on USA Sports.
