Washington – Embarking on the front end of a two-game road trip, Fordham University women's basketball heads to the nation's capital for a meeting with George Washington Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
Originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, the game was moved up, with an impending snowstorm threatening areas across the country this weekend.
Fordham (9-10, 1-7) came just shy of its second straight victory, but fell at home to Saint Louis in overtime 67-57. George Washington (10-11, 2-6) has lost two straight in a pair of closely contested games, against Loyola Chicago, 53-48 and at VCU 63-60.
The Revolutionaries lead the all time series 22-12, though the Rams have claimed eight of the last 10 meetings between the two sides. George Washington took the last meeting 69-59 on Feb. 4, 2025 to split the season series with the Rams after Fordham won 61-53 a month prior on Jan. 8, 2025. The home team has won each of the last five contests in the series.

The Rams are second in the league and 43rd best of any team in the nation, averaging 25.2 bench points per game.
Fordham also sits 54th in the country in steals per game at 10.6/game, the second best average in the league as well, and rank 48th in the country in turnovers forced per game, forcing opponents into 20.37/game, leading the A-10.
The Rams sit 11th among all Division I teams in the nation averaging 16.4 offensive rebounds per game and are 77th nationally in overall rebounds at 39.74, both second best in the A-10.
Scoring in double figures in each of her first 13 games as a Ram, Alexis Black has paced the Rams offense and sits 38th in the nation in free throws made with 83 on the year.
Playing 16 of 29 regular season games at home this season, and 20 within the state of New York, the Maroon and White will head to Virginia on three separate road trips, playing four of their nine out of state contests in the Old Dominion State, including each of their next two contests at George Washington and VCU.
On Thursday, former Fordham women's basketball player and 2019 Atlantic 10 Champion, Edona Thaqi '21, M.S. '22, was named as an Anaylst and Reporter for the inaguaral season of coverage for the WNBA on USA Sports.
