Fordham takes on Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+ in North Carolina

Davidson, N.C.  – Making their way down to North Carolina Wednesday night, Fordham University women's basketball takes on Davidson at 7:00 p.m. from the Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham (8-8, 0-5) is still seeking the first win in conference play this season, falling to Dayton 66-58 last time out Saturday afternoon. Davidson (10-4, 4-1) looks to ride its strong start to league play, after downing Richmond in a triple-overtime thriller on the road, 91-84.

All-time against Davidson, the Maroon and White lead the series 15-7, and are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings with the Wildcats. Last time the two met was in the regular season finale last season where Davidson escaped with a 64-52 win at home. Three of the last four meetings between the two sides have been played in the Old North State.

Holding opponents to just 37.8% shooting on the year, the Rams post the fifth best field goal percentage defense in the A-10, 88th best in the country, and also pace the league averaging 26.4 bench points per game, 40th best of any team in the nation.

The Maroon and White also sit 57th in the country in steals per game at 10.6/game, the second best average in the league as well, and rank 53rd in the country in turnovers forced per game, forcing opponents into 20.31/game, leading the A-10.

The Rams sit 13th among all Division I teams in the nation averaging 16.6 offensive rebounds per game and are 68th nationally in overall rebounds at 40.44, both second best in the A-10.

Fordham has drawn 18.25 free throws attempts per game, and have made 13.07/game, both second best in the league.

Scoring in double figures in each of her first 13 games as a Ram, Alexis Black has paced the Rams offense and sits 36th in the nation in free throws made with 83 on the year, and is 83rd amongst all Division I players with 272 points scored, averaging 19.4 points per game, 25th best in the nation. Black is top five in the league in points scored, points per game, assists, steals, three pointers made, three point percentage, and free throws attempted and made.

The Maroon and White return to The Bronx for the first of two straight home games, beginning Sunday against St. Bonaventure at 2:00 p.m. from the Rose Hill Gym.
