BRONX, NY --The Fordham volleyball team racked up 17 blocks for the second time this season, in a four-set loss (18-25, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25) to Loyola Chicago Saturday at the Rose Hill Gym.
Erynn Sweeney finished with 12 kills on the day to lead the Rams offense. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Özge Özaslan had 16 and Whitney Woodrow had 12. From the front row, Tatum Holderied contributed 12 blocks and Audrey Brown added seven rejections.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rams fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-18. Fordham trailed by as many as eight points as Loyola Chicago grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up four times before the Ramblers took control.
SET 2 | A 25-23 set-two loss put Fordham in a 2-0 deficit in the match. Fordham took an early lead and held the advantage down the stretch before Loyola Chicago grabbed the lead at 24-23 in a set that was knotted up eight times.
SET 3 | Fordham used another dominant start in set three to go on and win the set 25-22 powered by a solid performance on the attacking end. Fordham registered a .324 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win, opening up a 15-9 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there.
SET 4 | Fordham couldn't build off the set-three victory and lost in set four 25-18, trailing by as many as eight points as Loyola Chicago grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 and Fordham wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up seven times before the Ramblers took over in the second half of the stanza.

The Rams make their first trip of the season outside of New York borders, heading to Ohio next weekend for a pair of matches at Dayton, Oct. 4-5.
