DAYTON, Ohio --The Fordham volleyball team fell Friday in a four-set (13-25, 23-25, 29-27, 14-25) defeat at Dayton, despite a strong effort particularly in the middle two frames on the night.
Zoe Talabong led the Rams with 11 kills on the day to lead the Fordham attack, while Tatum Holderied also pitched in with six in the contest. The Rams also got 15 digs from Ozge Ozaslan to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Rams fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-13. Fordham trailed by as many as 12 points as Dayton grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was tied up just once before the Flyers took control.
SET 2 | Fordham then dropped the second set 25-23 to fall behind in the match two sets to none, despite nearly upending the Flyers down the stretch. Neither team led by more than three points along the way, as the Rams fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied nine times.
SET 3 | After falling in the first two sets, Fordham fought back to win set three and make it a 2-1 match. Strong serving helped the Rams win the set 29-27, as Fordham recorded eight aces in the win. The Rams opened up a 16-7 lead in the stanza and fought off a rally by Dayton late to take the victory from there. The Fordham offense also got a boost from eight aces in the stanza. Fordham's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Dayton attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Fordham couldn't build off the set-three victory and fell in set four 25-14 to drop the match. The Rams fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before falling in the set.
