Cary, N.C. -Â For the first time in Fordham University women's tennis history, two players were accepted into the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C.
Nevena Kolarevic, the reigning Atlantic 10 Performer of the Year, was selected into the singles draw. In the doubles draw, Kolarevic partnered with freshman Valerika Kargina.

On Saturday, Kolarevic became the first player from Fordham University to win an ITA All-American match, defeating Maria Andrienko from the University of Alabama, 6-4, 6-2.
She followed that with her second win at the championship, a 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 decision over Sacramento State's Catherine Walker in the Round of 128. She then fell to Zoie Epps from Louisiana Tech University, 7-5, 6-0, in the Round of 64.

Unfortunately, the pair of Kolarevic and Kargina were defeated later in the afternoon by #4 seeds Erika Matsuda & Carina Syrtveit from the University of Washington 6-3, 6-3, who are also ranked 64
th in the country

A historic championship on the college tennis calendar, the ITA All-American Championships have been held since 1979 for the men and since 1983 for the women. Past winners include Danielle Collins (Virginia), Ben Shelton (Florida) and John Isner (Georgia).
