Men’s Basketball Signs Dejour Reaves

First Team All-MAAC pick averaged 17.3 points per game at Iona

BRONX, N.Y.  – Fordham Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Magpayo has officially announced the addition of proven Division I standout Dejour Reaves to the Rams' roster for the 2025-26 season.

"Dejour brings elite production from a nearby New York university and is born and raised in New York, making this an exciting addition for the student body," said Magpayo. "Dejour will be an incredibly efficient player to our program.  He has great shooting ability, as well as a New York toughness, that Rose Hill will love to cheer on! Welcome Dejour aka "Dae Dae" Reaves to Fordham Basketball!"

Reaves, a First Team All-MAAC selection, starred for Iona this past season, anchoring the Gaels to an appearance in the championship game of the MAAC Tournament.  The 6-foot guard averaged 17.3 points per game, a total that ranked fourth in the MAAC and 98th nationally. He shot 44.9% from the field, including a 34.1% clip from beyond the arc on just over five attempts per outing.  Reaves also converted on 81.9% of his tries from the charity stripe and pulled down 5.5 boards per contest.

Reaves reach double figures 29 times with 12 outings of 20 or more points, including a season-high 30-point outing against Indiana State in the Bahamas that included a 6-for-9 showing from three-point range.

A defensive menace, Reaves averaged 2.1 steals per game, good enough for third in the MAAC and tied for 28th in all of Division I.

Before arriving in New Rochelle, the Syracuse, N.Y., native spent the 2023-24 season at Northern Colorado, where he claimed All-Big Sky Third Team honors and won the Big Sky Top Reserve of the Year award.  He started 11 of the team's 30 games, averaging 14.9 points on 46.7% shooting, including a 38.0% effort from beyond the arc.  Reaves also averaged 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in his first year at the Division I level in addition to converting at an 82.4% clip from the charity stripe.  Reaves reached double figures 21 times in 30 opportunities for the Bears with eight 20-point games, including a season-high 30 points against Texas A&M-Commerce.

Reaves spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Trinidad State College, where he scored 1,111 points in just 51 games.  As a sophomore in 2022-23, Reaves was named a Second Team NJCAA All-American and the Region IX Player of the Year after averaging 23.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per contest.  He shot a blistering 52.3% from the field and converted at a 38.2% clip from long range.

Reaves attended Corcoran High School in his native Syracuse, where he graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer and led the team to the 2020 Section III Class AA Championship, the program's first title in 20 years.
