Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham football held the 2025 Doc Cordaro Football Golf Outing on Monday, April 28, at the Leewood Golf Club in Eastchester, N.Y., where former Rams got together for some fun on the links and to support the football program.

The outing also honored the 2015 team on the tenth anniversary of the Rams earning an NCAA At-Large Championship bid with a slide show of action shots from the season.

Following a day of golf, the Fordham supporters returned to the clubhouse for dinner and an awards ceremony.

At dinner, the crowd was addressed by Gridiron Club president Dominic Curcio, FCRH '88, LAW '91, who stressed the need to support the football program, in the form of purchasing season tickets and donating to the locker room renovation project which is slated to start soon.

Curcio also stressed the importance of helping others. "I always say it's important to connect and reconnect. It's so important that former players come back and expand our rolodexes, to use an outdated term. The Fordham football program made all of us who we are today and it's vital that we help the next group of Rams."

Director of Athletics Charles Guthrie then spoke to those in attendance about the importance of football at the collegiate level right now and of his meeting with former Ram and former Fordham head football coach Joe Moorhead, who Guthrie hired to lead the University of Akron while Guthrie served as the Zips athletic director.

"When I met with Joe he told me that Fordham was one of the most special places he's been to in his life," relayed Guthrie. "His advice to me when I took over at Fordham was 'take care of my alma mater'."

Following Guthrie, head coach Joe Conlin then took the podium to update the crowd on the Fordham football program. He spoke about the completion of spring practice as the Rams prepare for the 2025 opener at Boston College on August 30.

"Spring ball was fantastic," said Conlin. "There was great energy and competition at every practice and, more importantly, only one minor injury."

"We have good depth on the defensive line and we'll be going into fall camp with a strong quarterback competition. Jack Capaldi, Tripp Holley, and Gunner Smith all had a solid spring season and all three played well in the spring game."

Conlin closed by thanking the Gridiron Club for its support of the football program. "We are so grateful for all you do for the team. We couldn't do any of it without your support."
