NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Fordham rowing team enjoyed another stellar effort at the Spring Metropolitan Championships held on Saturday morning at Glen Island Park.
     
The Varsity 8+ claimed gold, finishing its final race in a time of 7:08.1, more than four seconds ahead of Fairfield in second and 18 seconds clear of Iona in third.  It marked the fourth straight season that the Fordham Varsity 8+ shell won its race at this event.
 
The Second and Third Varsity 8+ boats also found their way onto the medal stand, as the 2V8+ finished its final second in a time 7:30.75 while the 3V8+ came in third (7:56.79).  
 
After finishing second in its morning heat with a time of 8:42.2, the Novice 4+ took third in its afternoon final, crossing the line in 9:07.63.
 
The Varsity 4+ finished fourth in its morning time trial, crossing the line in a time of 8:38.52.
