Richmond, Va. – The Fordham women's tennis squad continued its Spring Break trip to Virginia with a stop in Richmond as the Rams defeated Atlantic 10 foes, the University of Richmond, 4-1, at the Westhampton Tennis Complex on Friday.

Michael Sowter. "Everyone contributed in both singles and doubles to beat a solid Richmond squad! Looking to carry this momentum forward into another tough A-10 match against VCU tomorrow."
Fordham opened the match taking the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches. Fordham's
Paola Ueno Dalmonico and
Catalina Padilla Udaeta started things with a 6-4 win over Richmond's Andrea Campodonico and Lara Bakhaya at third doubles before the Spiders won at the second position. First doubles went to a tiebreaker where Fordham's
Nevena Kolarevic and
Julianne Nguyen defeated Andrea Campodonico and Lara Bakhaya, 7-6 (7-3).
Fordham then won the match by taking three of the four completed singles matches. Kolarevic took first singles from Sofia Barbulescu in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, while
Lorraine Bergmann also won in straight sets, taking third singles from Abby Lee, 6-1, 6-0.
Lily Chitambar then clinched the match for the Rams, taking fourth singles from Bakhaya, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
