Box Score Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham University men's tennis team closed out its Spring Break trip to Florida with a 4-1 win over Morgan State University on Thursday night at the USTA National Campus.
 
"It was a great response from the team today," said head coach David Slater. "Great wins for the three freshmen. We hope we can carry this momentum back to the Bronx."
 
Fordham opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning the two completed doubles matches. Dhillon Virdee-Oakley and Dhananjay Athreya got it started with a 6-3 win over Morgan State's Mikeal Carpenter and Bertin Karenzi at first doubles before Phillip Uhde and Filip Horak clinched the point for the Rams with a 6-4 win over Majdi Ben Abdelwahed and Mohamed Ridha Ghettas at second doubles.

After Morgan State tied the match at one by winning at first singles, Fordham won the next three completed singles matches for the 4-1 win.
 
Jeremy Victoria gave the Rams their first singles win with a 6-3, 7-5, win over Mohamed Ridha Ghettas at sixth singles before Will Lokier put Fordham up 3-1 when he defeated Bertin Karenzi at the third position, 6-3, 6-1. Horak then clinched the match for the Rams with a 6-3, 7-5, win at second singles over Mikkijha Brown.
