Lakeland, Fla. – The Fordham University men's tennis team opened play on its Spring Break on Tuesday with a 4-0 loss at Florida Southern College at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
Florida Southern opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning all three doubles matches.
The Mocs then won the match by taking the first three completed singles matches. Fordham's
Filip Horak was ahead of Florida Southern's Chris Fok Kow at second singles when the match was halted, taking the first set, 6-2, and leading 5-2 in the second.
Other Rams who won sets were Ruben Russwurn, who won the first set at fifth singles from Edoardo Melindo, 6-2, but dropped the second, 6-1, while
Andro Barrientos also won the first set against Onur Turgut at the sixth position, 6-4, but was trailing in the second, 3-1, when the match was halted.
