Bronx, N.Y. – Before departing on a Spring Break trip down south, the Fordham women's tennis squad hosted its first outdoor match of the spring, defeating Queens College, 4-0, on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts.
Fordham opened the match winning the doubles point, taking two of the three doubles matches. After the Rams fell at third doubles, Fordham's
Paola Ueno Dalmonico and
Catalina Padilla Udaeta took second doubles from Eva Rivoal and Apolline Lamy, 6-2, and then
Lorraine Bergmann and
Lily Chitambar clinched the point for the Rams with a 6-4 win at first doubles over Maja Makal and Saga Berggren.
The Rams then won the first three completed singles matches for the 4-0 win.
Lily Chitambar got it started with a 6-4, 6-0, win over Saga Berggren at fourth singles before
Catalina Padilla Udaeta took fifth singles from Kyra Bergmann in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Paola Ueno Dalmonico then won the match for Fordham with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Apolline Lamy at third singles.
