Women's Basketball Head to Davidson for Regular Season Finale

The Rams take on the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon

NEW YORK  – Heading down to North Carolina for the final game of the regular season, Fordham University women's basketball takes on Davidson Saturday afternoon.

Turn Up and Tune In

  • The Rams and Wildcats square off in the 2024-25 regular season finale at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+

  • Hitting the road for the radio feed, Chris Carrino and Tucker Austin bring fans the game on the WFUV Radio call via YouTube Live.

Rams at a Glance

  • Fordham (15-13, 9-8 A-10) toppled La Salle in a 21-point victory on senior day in the Rams' regular season home finale Wednesday, 72-51.

  • Saturday's game sees the Rams close the 2024-25 regular season with their first game against a new opponent since Feb. 16, following a stretch of three of its last four games against opponents they faced earlier in the year, taking on Duquesne Feb. 19, before heading to Dayton last Saturday, and hosting La Salle last time out.

  • The Rams have limited seven of their last 11 opponents to under 60 points, and have held 15 teams this season to 59 points or less in 16 games, holding La Salle under 60 in both meetings this season..

Playoff Implications

  • Fordham currently holds the No. 8 seed in the A-10 entering the regular season finale, before the league's 15-teams descend on Henrico, Va. early next week for the 2025 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

  • Entering Wednesday, the Rams are mathematically in contention for either the No. 8, or No. 9 seeds, and are guaranteed to avoid playing a game on the opening day of the tournament, set to begin exactly one week from Wednesday.

  • The Rams will take on Duquesne, as neither Fordham nor the Dukes can move above or below any other team besides each other, setting up a meeting between the two, regardless of seed.

  • The No. 8 and No. 9 seeds will meet in the first game of the second round, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Henrico, Va. with the winner taking on Richmond, who has already locked up the No. 1 seed in the tournament

  • A Fordham win gives the Rams the No. 8 seed, but a loss AND a Dukes win Saturday would put Duquesne ahead of the Rams in the standings, which will determine home-away distinction at the Henrico Sports and Events Center come Thursday.

By the Numbers

  • 56 - Fordham has only allowed more than 56 points scored four times in any of their 15 wins on the year, holding two teams below 50, limiting St. Bonaventure to 49 points, and holding LIU to a season-low 43 points on Dec. 8.

  • 60 - The magic number to victory this season, the Rams Rams are 12-3 this season in games where they've scored at least 60 points, but sit at just 2-10 in games where their opponents reach that same plateau.

  • 6 - Six different Rams enter the weekend averaging at least 3.1 rebounds per game.

  • 11 - The Rams went the first 11 games of the year without allowing 70 or more points to any opponent.

  • Pacing the team in assists, rebounds, and steals, Taya Davis added 11 assists while committing just two turnovers, eight boards, and three steals, and in the two combined games against La Salle, totaled 24 assists, with 13 dimes back on Feb. 12 in Philadelphia.

  • While still awaiting their official seed, the Rams will open their quest for the league crown on Thursday, Mar. 6 against Duquesne in the second round of the A-10 tournament at 11:00 a.m. on ESPN+.
