BRONX, N.Y. (Feb. 28, 2025) – The Fordham men's basketball team will host its penultimate home game of the season on Saturday afternoon when it welcomes the Hawks of Saint Joseph's to the Rose Hill Gym.

Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. on USA Network with Mike Corey and Tim McCormick on the call.  The game can also be heard on 90.7 FM WFUV with Lou Orlando, Nick Guzman and Caleb Stine on the call.

Fordham will honor the contributions of seven seniors and graduate students prior to Saturday's game: student manager Alex Usatine, Brian Nussbaum, Matt Zona, Jackie Johnson III, Japhet Medor, Zach Riley and Abdou Tsimbila.

Fordham (11-17, 3-12 A-10) will look to snap a five-game skid when it hosts the Hawks (18-10, 9-6 A-10) for its eighth and final nationally televised game of the regular season.

In their most recent outing on Wednesday night, the Rams stayed within striking distance of league-leading George Mason on the road before the Patriots pulled away down the stretch.  Trailing by eight at the half, Fordham opened the second stanza on an 8-0 to knot the game at 32.  George Mason moved in front by as many as five before the Rams rallied to even the count at 55 on a pair of Johnson free throws with 5:41 remaining.  From there, the Patriots uncorked a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to secure their 13th A-10 win of the season.

Medor tallied a team-high 22 points on 5-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc for his sixth game of the season with 20 or more points.  The graduate student connected on seven of his eight tries from the charity stripe while also tallying four assists and three steals.  Medor is averaging 16.1 points per game in conference play, good enough for ninth in the league.  He also ranks third in the A-10 in both assists per game (4.7) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3.0) against league foes.

Johnson registered 13 points to finish in double figures for the 27th time in 28 opportunities this season.  Entering the weekend, Johnson ranks second in the league in scoring at 18.6 points per game.  The senior guard is on pace to average more points per game than any Fordham player since Joe Paterno, the program's fourth leading scorer all-time, posted 20.0 points per game during the 1988-89 season.

Tsimbila narrowly missed a double-double against George Mason, logging eight points on 3-of-5 shooting and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes of action.  The graduate student also rejected three shots, raising his four-year Fordham block total to 198.  He is looking to become just the fourth Fordham men's player to ever record 200 blocks in a career, joining Dud Tongal (217), Damon Lopez (258) and Bryant Dunston (292).

Saint Joe's heads to Rose Hill seeking its fourth straight win.  The Hawks have won each of their last three games by double digits, including a 75-64 win over St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.  Sophomore guard Xzayvier Brown led the way with a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double while junior forward Rasheer Fleming added 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go with six rebounds and three blocks.

On the season, Brown leads the Hawks with 16.7 points per game while Fleming averages 15.3 points on 56.5% shooting, including a 42.6% mark from long distance.  Senior guard Erik Reynolds II ranks second on the team averaging 16.4 points per contest.

The Hawks boast one of the A-10's toughest defenses, allowing just 67.4 points per game in conference play.

Fordham and Saint Joe's will meet for the 61st time in a series that dates back more than a century to the 1919-20 season.  The Hawks lead the series, 41-19, and have won six of the last seven against Fordham.  The Rams' last win against Saint Joe's came on Jan. 7, 2023, a 66-54 win at the Rose Hill Gym behind 15 points from Darius Quisenberry.

After hosting the Hawks, the Rams will wrap the regular season with a home game against George Washington on March 5 and a road tilt at Rhode Island on March 8.
